Mr. Tyler has successfully represented thousands of individuals and married couples in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings before both the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi Bankruptcy Courts.

In 2010, Mr. Tyer represented the State of Mississippi in a landmark settlement against Microsoft Corporation for violations of the Mississippi Consumer Protection Act and the Mississippi Antitrust Act that resulted in more than $100 Million in cash and other benefits to the State of Mississippi.

In 2012, Mr. Tyler represented the State of Mississippi in a settlement against BASF Corporation for violations of the Mississippi Consumer Protection Act and the Mississippi Antitrust Act that resulted in $60 Million in cash and other benefits to the State of Mississippi.

Along with national counsel, Mr. Tyler represented the co-lead state (Mississippi) in the $864 Million consumer fraud settlement achieved in January 2017 by 22 states and the United States Department of Justice with Moody’s Corporation, Moody’s Investors Service, Inc., and Moody’s Analytics, Inc.
$1.375 Million
Along with national counsel, Mr. Tyler represented co-lead state (Mississippi) in the $1.375 billion-dollar consumer fraud settlement achieved in 2015 by 20 states and the U.S. Department of Justice with Standard & Poor’s. Together with the Moody’s settlement, these cases against the nation’s two largest credit rating agencies produced key industry reforms that provide greater transparency for consumers and that divested the credit rating agencies of more than $2.2 billion for their conduct contributing to the national housing crisis and Great Recession.

Along with national counsel, Mr. Tyler represented the Mississippi Public Employees Retirement System in securities class actions against Wells Fargo Bank, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Indymac for their roles that lead to the national housing crisis and Great Recession of 2008 due to their misrepresentations regarding the quality of investments in mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations. These cases resulted in class recoveries exceeding $1 billion and the implementation of industry reforms, market transparency, and improved business practices.

Along with national counsel, Mr. Tyler represented the Mississippi Public Employees’ Retirement System in a securities class action against Banco Bradesco, S.A. that resulted in a $14.5 million recovery for members of the class.

In 2019, Mr. Tyler, along with national counsel, represented the Mississippi Public Employees Retirement System in a securities class action against Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. that resulted in a $20 million recovery for members of the class.

In 2021, Mr. Tyler, along with national counsel, represented the Mississippi Public Employees Retirement System in a securities class action against WageWorks, Inc. that resulted in a $30 million recovery for members of the class.

In 2017, GADOW TYLER assisted in resolving a shareholder derivative action against the board of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals that resulted in a $44.5 million reduction in director compensation, one of the largest excessive director compensation reduction cases ever.

In 2021, Mr. Tyler, along with national counsel, successfully represented the State of Mississippi against Santander Consumer USA (Santander) for violations of the Mississippi Consumer Protection Act that resulted in a $3.7 million settlement with Santander that includes restitution Mississippi consumers and other business reforms and changes that Santander must adhere to.
